Line Dance Blog 05: Move 9 to 13

Line Dance Blog 05:

• Last time we all ended up on the centre line facing South, after that difficult, snappy and wonderfully clean yield of the forehand! Now:

9) Ninth move:

• facing South: The centre horse (if playing with three horses if more, than every second horse) now parks for 8 beats, while the others walk South. We all have the whip in the left hand, rope in the right, because we anticipate a “longeing” position.

• Letztes Mal standen wir am Ende alle nach Süden ausgerichtet – nach dem schwierigen aber zackigen Weichen mit der Vorhand! Nun…

9) Übung Neun:

• nach Süden: Wenn man mit drei Pferden spielt das Mittlere, sonst jedes zweite Pferd, parkt jetzt 8 Takte, während die anderen auf einer geraden Linie nach Süden gehen. Alle haben die Gerte in der linken Hand, das Seil in der rechten, da wir uns für eine “Longier-Posisiton” vorbereiten.

10) Tenth move:

• starting South: We split up into 3 circles … now we all together (and synchronized) send the horses out on a circle, on the right hand (admire the clear body language and synchronization of my performers!) until we reach the North, where we perform a hand-change in perfect sync! (see book page 164, 165) –

10) Übung Zehn:

• Richtung Süden: Wir spalten uns in drei Zirkel auf … alle Teilnehmer (und alle synchron) schicken ihre Pferde auf einen Zirkel, auf der rechten Hand (bewundert hier mal die klare Körpersprache und perfekte Synchronisation meiner Darsteller!) nur einen halben Kreis bis Norden, wo alle sofort einen Handwechsel verlangen (synchron !!! siehe Buch Seite 164, 165) –

• and another hand-change instantly again in the South…

11) Eleventh move:

• walk North: The horses, which walked away before, now walk back 8 beats to the North, to rejoin the line with the centre horse (which has to park and wait for them, but also facing North).

• und nochmals einen sofortigen Handwechsel im Süden…

 11) Übung Elf:

• nach Norden: Die Pferde, die sich vorher abgespalten hatten, gehen nun 8 Takte nach Norden, um wieder auf der selben Linie wie das mittlere Pferd (welches solange, ebenfalls nach Norden gerichtet, parkt und wartet) anzukommen.

12) Twelfth move:

• to the East: All horses facing North are performing a “driving” sideways yield as before (see fifth move), but now the whip is in the left hand. 8 beats.

12) Übung Zwölf:

• nach Osten: Alle Pferde, mit Nase nach Norden, weichen jetzt seitwärts (wie wir schon in Übung Fünf gelernt haben), aber diesmal mit der Gerte in der linken Hand (also in die andere Richtung als vorher), 8 Takte lang.

13) Thirteenth move:

• to the West: they all return with a sideways bring-back (see 6th move), still facing North with whip in the left hand.

13) Übung Dreizehn:

• nach Westen: bringt sie alle zurück (strikt sw!) wie in Übung Sechs, Nase nach Norden mit der Gerte in der linken Hand.
